WIPEOUT!

We had a fun party last night for Tyler's television debut on Wipeout. We were a little disappointed in his lack of air time especially because he DID make it to the 2nd round and beat a couple of the other contestants times in the qualifier.
Boo ABC for that!!!
We still had a great night with about 30 of our friends and a ton of yummy treats.
3 other contestants came so it made the 1st round even more fun to watch.
Tyler took these pictures off the TV.

He is the 2nd jumper in the red shirt.
He barely didn't qualify for the next round.
SO CLOSE!The kids had a great time. Taylor was so excited to "stay up late."And jumping on the trampoline at night was quite an exciting thing. The girls in the yellow, white, and black shirts sitting on the couch were fellow cast members. The girl in the black shirt was the "PHAT" girl. We are so glad everyone came. It was such a fun night!

Set Your DVR's or Come Join Us.

Tyler's Wipeout episode airs this Tuesday at 8 pm on ABC so make sure to tune in. Just remember they encourage you to ham it up. I am already embarrassed for him :) For those of you in the area, come to our house for a little Wipeout Party around 8. You will even get to meet other Wipeout cast mates...woohoo! Just bring something yummy to share and kids are welcome.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Yesterday we had a little birthday party for my mom at the pool. My mom has been on vacation for a couple weeks so Taylor was VERY excited to have her Grandma P. back. This kiddie pool is my lifesaver this summer. We would never get to swim without it. Those of you who saw me at the ward pool day can attest to that.
I think the kids enjoyed having other adults to play with rather than having to fight for my attention. It was so nice to have everyone there to help watch and play. Disclaimer: My kids usually wear bathing suits and swim diapers when in the pool but they decided after they were all dry and clothed that they wanted to jump in so I stripped off their clothes right before their toes hit the water and there you have it...naked babies with saggy diapers, what a combination!

Thanks to everyone who came.
Happy Birthday Mom/Grandma!
Taylor has become quite a little fish.

18 MONTHS!!!

I can hardly believe it. Andy and Ashlyn are officially in nursery at church. As crazy as church has been with them, it was a little sad to leave them. With Taylor I was so excited for each milestone she reached because she was my first child. However, this time around I KNOW that time flies and kids grow up way too fast so I had a little bit of a difficult time leaving them. So I checked on them a few times and decided they were going to be fine. I went to sit down in Sunday School...5 minutes later...the door opens and there is Ashlyn with red puffy eyes being carried in by the nursery leader. Apparently she wasn't ready for me to leave her either.
Oh well, we will try again next week.

Abracadabra!

Our friends invited us to go to the Magic Castle in LA last night. For anyone that likes magic, good entertainment, and good food, I suggest you go but you have to be a member or know a member so good luck. =) Luckily we have friends with connections. This was our second time and much more fun than the first time, mostly because we went with friends and not drunk coworkers and watching our friend Andrea be easily entertained kept me laughing ALL night. I definitely needed the ab workout after all the food I consumed. Holy Cow!
And many thanks to the people who made this night possible:
Grandma and Grandpa J, thanks for taking such good care of our kids
and allowing us to stay out way too late.
Thanks Jeff and Laura for the invite and fun night. Next stop: Club 33.

Crazy Mess in 3.2 Seconds!

Normally I take the kids SOMEWHERE in the mornings...pool, museum, library, mall, lately the doctor's office has been on the list. They need to get out of the house and SO DO I. Ashlyn has been sick for a few days now which means non stop fussy whining, wanting to be held driving mom crazy behavior. So I thought we should have a low key day at home and I set up a little painting party in the backyard. I plead temporary insanity for thinking they would actually keep the paint on the paper and plastic I laid out for them.
It is much more fun to try to paint mom.
or the house
or themselves.
Check out Andy on the left...he is covered!
Oh and if you are wondering about Ashlyn's bangs, I REALLY REALLY wish I could blame the recent hair cut on her or Taylor finding unattended scissors but unfortunately Ashlyn was really wiggly while I tried to trim her bangs and this is what resulted. I am horribly bummed and mad at myself but I remind myself EVERY time I look at her cute face that they will grow back (anyone know how to make hair grow faster?) and they don't look too bad if I hairspray them to the side. Even though I have successfully cut her hair and Andy's in the past, Tyler has forbidden me to ever pick up the scissors again =)
Onto today's mess.
I left the room for literally 5 minutes and I returned to this. The guilty party is on the left. It took me forever to clean this up because vacuuming doesn't work and I had to get on my knees and use a vacuum tool. It didn't help that my kids thought it would be fun to squish the Cheerios. Where's a dog when you need one?

And these 2 instances are why I try to leave the house everyday.

How cute is this?!

Tanya was pretty beat when I got home yesterday, as she is most days when I get home at 7pm. Things are pretty busy at the office and then I had to run to Sam's Club. By the time I got home at 7:00 she was ready for a break (I wouldn't have made it that long). I took the twins up to bed, and had Taylor come up to 'help'. She helped me change their sheets, and as I was putting the last sheet on I asked her to read the twins a book. I didn't know she would actually do it, but luckily I caught it on video.

Man, I've got some cute kids. :)

Cupcake Obsession

It all began with my 1st trip to Sprinkles in Newport. The obsession became stronger after my trip to Vegas where I sampled my sister's friend's (gifted baker) cupcakes that truly were amazing. I should probably give the disclaimer that I am not really a cake girl, I prefer cookies and other baked goodies before cake, that's why you can be safe to assume that the above mentioned treats were divine. Therefore, I have decided that I want to make the world's best cupcakes.
So here it attempt #1 (made from scratch):

And the verdict is (according to some) Better than Sprinkles!!! Can that be true?! I guess I need to put a sign on my door advertising cupcakes for $4 each.

This is only attempt #1 and I have promised my neighbors that I will only make attempts once a week as to not add too much to their caloric intake. I really enjoy making treats and giving them to people. I have passed on my obsession to Taylor. She LOVES baking and cooking with me. Everyday she says let's make something and names all the people we should deliver goodies to. Maybe she will become our own little in house chef.

Built for 2

but we always find a way to squeeze in 3.

I love this time of year when the sun is up later and the evenings are warm. Lately, we have been playing with the kids outside before we put them to bed. The other night we decided it was time to dust off the bike trailer and see just how crammed we could make them. We won't be able to do this too much longer but for now it allows us to take some quick rides around the neighborhood.

Day 3

The reason for our trip:
To get a picture of 4 generations of Jorgenson men.
Andy is the only male great grandchild and the one to carry on the Jorgenson name. Tyler's grandpa is 92. He seemed really happy to be able to meet Andy. He said he always wanted twins but never got them. Now they are in the family. I am really glad we were able to make it up there and introduce him to Andy and Ashlyn.
Horrible lighting with this picture. The camera was on a weird setting.
Luckily Tyler's mom took pictures also.
The kids had a great time playing at the Packards House.
If my backyard was like this I would never see my kids.
Andy is our little sports man.The playhouse was a big hit. So adorable! It has running water and electricity. So I had a great time on our little road trip but I think the most amazing part occurred on the ride home. ALL 3 kids ASLEEP in the car ALL AT THE SAME TIME. For those of you who have ever driven in the car with us know this is a miracle. It lasted about an hour and a half!!! I didn't even know what to do with myself. I could actually talk to Tyler, listen to something other than Barney or Disney Princesses (the ONLY 2 movies that entertain all 3 of them), and notice all the miles of farmland that exists in Central CA. AMAZING!

I apologize for all the pictures and narration but I am using this as a journal. Hopefully some of you were entertained by our little excursion.

Road Trip Day 2.

Capitola is a cute beach town and we enjoyed taking walks (burning some calories) and then heading to the locals favorite bakery, Gayle's, for the most delicious treats. I actually did pretty well and only allowed myself a couple cookies. =)

Day 2 we headed to Roaring Camp to take a train ride through the Redwoods.Waiting for the train. This was one of my many attempts to keep Ash entertained on the train. She wasn't too happy that she couldn't get down and walk around.

After the train we went to Chili's for dinner and then caused some chaos in the mall with chocolate ice cream. It is amazing the ice cream didn't get all over the place.

RoadTrip!

On Wednesday we headed to Tyler's Aunt and Uncle's Beach house in Capitola with Tyler's parents. It is the cutest house and it looks like it came straight from the pages of the Pottery Barn Summer Catalog. I LOVE IT!
We stopped at Casa de Fruta on the way up to give the kids a much needed break. They had fun playing on the playground, riding the train and carousel, and buying fruit.

Day 1 consisted of going to the beach,
Taylor getting a fever that lasted the entire trip,
and going to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Can it be that my kids are big enough to go on rides by themselves???
My babies are not babies anymore. It is so weird!

Our 4th of July Weekend.

We started the day with a trip to Urgent Care. I think we should have a frequent visitor card because we go there WAY too often. We left with prescriptions for 4 bottles of medicine for Andy and Ashlyn to get rid of their ear infections and congestion. At least they get sick at the same time so we can just be done with it all at once. Needless to say we canceled our beach plans and spent the afternoon/evening at home.

We had a BBQ on our front porch.

And had our own little firework show. Andy is our Pyro in training. Like Father, Like Son.
On Saturday we had a block party. I think almost every house was represented. It was really neat to have such a great turnout. We have great neighbors!
We had water slides, water balloons, and a parade.Taylor was SO excited to participate in the kid's parade and show off her decorated scooter. Andy and Ashlyn LOVED the water balloons.Trisha and Russ joined the fun.We ended the day with a bonfire, smores, and more fireworks (and a visit from the sheriff, apparently our new city is a no firework city).

Fun Times!
