3.1 miles in 30 minutes!

Yesterday I ran my first 5K race, actually it was my 1st race EVER.
A couple months ago I was inspired by a few of my friends and the Biggest Loser to attempt running a 5K. It may not seem like much to some, but I am NOT a runner. I am in decent shape but running is NOT my thing. It is just boring. Despite that I thought it would be a fun challenge and a good goal to accomplish. I convinced Sara to join me (isn't she lucky to have a friend like me) and we began "training" AKA walking and talking. We chose the Disney 5K (our favorite place) to be our 1st racing attempt. Once we signed up we intensified our training so that we would not be totally humiliated and have to be escorted out of the park by a golf cart because we were not running fast enough (seriously that was their threat). Once I knew I could do it, my goal was to run in it 30 minutes and I DID. Our husbands and my sister joined us. It was so much fun and I can't wait to do another one.
Before the race...do you like our cute matching shirts we made?!
The matching boys.
We got lame shirts because we were ONLY running the Family Fun 5 K but the half marathon racers got neat shirts. I think I may attempt that next year just so I can get a COOL shirt. LOVE Tyler's orange shorts.Sisters!

The start of the race.

It was so crowded. We had to dodge through the crowd just so we could run. At that point, we got separated from each other. There is nothing better than while running Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine and Aladdin make up your cheering squad.

By mile 3, there were no more crowds.

THE END!

We made it and got our cool Fun Run medals. Woo Hoo!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa J for taking good care of the kiddos.

Taylor keeps asking for you guys.

Mommy and Taylor's Day of Fun!

On Friday I was able to take Taylor out for some Mommy/Taylor time. It was long overdue.

We went to lunch.
And saw a movie.
I thought this movie was cute with good lessons, however, the depression era is not a concept Taylor knows so she didn't always get it. She liked Kit though.
And then we bonded over clothes shopping.
This was Taylor's 1st experience trying on clothes in a dressing room.
She LOVED it! She is definately my daughter.

I loved being able to spend time with her without the hassle and interruptions Andy and Ashlyn create. She is such a fun girl and adds so much joy and fun to my life.

SURPRISE!

We had a surprise party for my sister Trisha's 25th birthday on Saturday. It was a perfect surprise, she had NO CLUE. It was great!
My mom constantly peaking to see if she was here yet.
Taylor and Paige practicing their surprise.
Side Note: Taylor dressed herself.Waiting...
SURPRISE!!!Russ always gets Trisha great presents.
Last year it was a snowboard, this year a wake board.
They are a pretty active pair....ahh, the joys of pre motherhood =)

We had appetizers, dinner outside, and ended with a chocolate chip cookie cake. So Good!

Trapped!

I think this picture says it all. Ashlyn learned how to climb out of of her crib this week which isn't a huge deal except she wouldn't stay in the crib for naps and decided at 6 AM to grace us with her presence. NO THANK YOU! We do not wake up that early and I don't intend to start now. So thank you to the tent inventor and for pricing it ridiculously high, you have been a life saver. And now if I can just keep Andy from following in his sister's footsteps, I will be very grateful because I DO NOT want to buy another one.

Happy Campers?

My idea of camping involves an RV. I know all you avid campers are saying "That's not camping." But that is how I was raised and personally I prefer a nice hotel and room service above anything else. The thought of camping with 3 kids, 3 years and younger has really not been on my priority list of things to accomplish. HOWEVER, my mom takes her trailer out at least once a month and Taylor asks me ALL THE TIME if we can have a camp out. So I decided how bad can it be for one night, we can do it, Andy and Ashlyn sleep fine in pack and plays, it will be great. Well, everything was great until it was time to get Andy and Ashlyn to sleep and to try and keep them asleep. I did not calculate into our equation how cold it was going to be so every time they moved, they found themselves on a cold part of their bed which would cause them to wake up, realize they were outside, and then decide it would be more fun to disturb all our fellow campers than go back to sleep. All I wanted was for the sun to rise so we could go home. At 4:30 AM, Ashlyn woke up AGAIN and decided it was time to play. She woke up Taylor and then Andy and I told Tyler, "We are out of here!" So we packed up and headed home and immediately upon arrival fell soundly asleep in our own beds.
Ashlyn, the little stink, slept until 2:30!!!

We went to Big Bear and Taylor got car sick for the 1st time on the way up. It was so sad. We had to stop and let her out to get some fresh air. After we convinced her to get back in the car, she kept saying, "Daddy drive slower!"Our tent.Is she not the cutest little camper you ever did see?Andy's favorite part was hammering in the stakes.Russ and Trisha were there which is always a treat.

We will be sad when they leave us to go back to Utah. :(Taylor was SO in her element. She LOVED every second of her camping experience. My mom was nice enough to wake up before we left and make her breakfast so that her camp out was complete.

Taylor and her smores. She made one for everyone and wanted to continue to make them even though we were all smored out.

Another attempt at a family picture.

Next time (yes I did say next time, I'm crazy), Andy and Ashlyn will sleep in the trailer. I will probably join them and leave my 2 campers (T&T) outside.

Class of 98!

Tyler's 10 year high school reunion was last weekend. It was held at Dave n Busters which I think is the perfect venue for such an occasion. You can only reminisce and talk about what you "have been up to since high school" for so long and being able to shoot pool, sing karaoke, and play games really helps those awkward moments when there is nothing else to say especially to those people who are on face book, blogger, and myspace and know everything about you anyways. Tyler singing karaoke.Tamara was one of Tyler's good friends in High School. It was fun to catch up with her.

Thanks Grandpa J for skipping out on a wedding reception and watching the kids for us so Tyler didn't have to go solo.
