Just another day.

All my beach posts are the same. It was a perfect day, the kids loved the sand, the kids loved the water, why don't I live there, blah blah blah. Friday's trip to the beach was no exception except this time, we went with my sister Tracy who was visiting from Vegas. Other than that small difference and maybe 20 funny pictures like the one above, everything else was pretty routine for us. Loving the sand...
loving the sea shells...
loving the water...

Loving cute kids...

Not loving how grown up this girl looks....
Loving that Daddy could join us for dinner and a walk...

And wondering why we don't live here. Actually just down a little way on an island with its own private entrance. If I am dreaming, might as well go big!

Meet AshLYN

Soon after this little girl entered the world at a whopping 4 lbs 5 oz, Tyler nicknamed her Ashy. From then on she was lovingly referred to as Ash and Ashy until..... now. She has informed us that she is in fact AshLYN, thank you very much. She refers to herself as Ashlyn when a week ago she was just Ash. She will also correct you if you call her Ash. My mom received a firm "NO, it's Ashlyn" just yesterday. She makes me laugh everyday but at the same time I am a little nervous for the challenges this child will give me in the future.
We definitely love our AshLYN!

Trapped!

1 sick kid
1 trip to the doctor
1 trip to the pharmacy
1 sleepless night
Oh wait, now Mom is sick...only on the left side of her face, hmmmm. Left eye swollen, left nostril full of snot (pleasant I know), left side of throat and neck swollen. Blessing? Perhaps. Because if the right side hurt like the left, function level would be about zero. And I had to be functioning for the rest of the week which included:

Child #2 sick with the mutated form of Child #1's disease
Another trip to the doctor
Another trip to the pharmacy
More sleepless nights.
Child #1 is still sick.
And that is how we became trapped in our home
We don't do well trapped in our home.
Our home does not do well with us trapped inside it. Oh the mess!

Tonight during the less than full night sleep I will dream of:
Returning to the beach
Returning to the pool
Returning to the gym (the jiggle on my legs is most distasteful)
A visit from Edgar and his cleaning crew.
Sweet Dreams!

My trip to Utah

was all about this precious little boy.

Cannon John

born to my sister and her husband on July 4th.

I was lucky enough to be able to go up and "help" out for 3 days (basically I just held him a lot while he slept, he is so good).

I can't believe my baby sister is a mom.

I am so proud of her and the life she has created with Russ. I miss them already!!!

4th of July!

4 years ago we spent 4th of July with the Blumes in San Clemente. This year we did it again....
but we had a few extra kids in tow. What a difference 4 years makes!
Grandma and Grandpa J joined us.

After a perfect day at the beach we jumped on the golf cart and headed over to Sara's Aunt's house for a swim in the pool and lots of food.
As a result, I got my first cookie order for a wedding reception. I guess I'm in the cookie business now! Please contact my secretary (her name is Sara) =) if you are interested in custom cookies at your next event.
That's enough with the self promotion. Back to 4th of July.
My little 4th of July Girl! That's about as cute as they come.
Stay tuned to my blog to find out where you can buy those cute flip flop bows.

Father/Son Pyro Team.
All ready for the firework show on the beach.

It was a GREAT day! We had a blast!

And now for the best part of the day....
Introducing the newest member of our family....
Cannon John Jacobson.
My sister gave birth to this darling boy on the 4th and started our day out right.
I'm counting the days (only 3 more) until I fly to Utah to love on him.

Block Party Bash

The 2nd Annual OPL 4th of July Block Party was complete with:

Cute kids excited to be running around the neighborhood until after dark
and drenching their dad with water balloons.A Parade led by my one true love and his toy
Lots of red, white, and blue decor and attire.
Hanging out with friends.
Lots of rides on the golf cart.

Good food and treats that little Ms. Sweet Tooth enjoyed. How come she looks guilty? Maybe because it was her 10th trip to that table. Hmmmm.
Dancing and posing with sparklers in hand.
Thanks Blumes for another fun block party!

Just another day at the beach...

This time we headed down to Mission Beach in San Diego to take part in the
Zellmann's Annual Vacation week.
It was a perfect day.A couple years ago if you would have told me that Taylor would be swimming in the ocean or swimming across the pool by herself at this point in her life, I would have laughed. My timid, scared-of-Disneyland-characters child has become Ms Fearless.
On Daddy's shoulders.

We loved spending time with the Zellmanns (Our Andy's namesake is to my right).

We love the beach!
