Happy Easter Round 1

Our Easter weekend became a 4 day event therefore I will space out my postings of the events as to not have THE longest post ever. So here is day 1 (Thursday). Sara and I had a great idea to find a field and dress our kids in their Easter outfits and take pictures. LUCKILY, Sara's friend that takes pictures for a living and does amazing work came with us. I have only a few so far but here is small preview. The kids were so cooperative even when we stuck them in grass/weeds as tall as they were with some that stung.

A Small Miracle.

The last couple nights Taylor has been going to bed later than normal because my sister was in town and we had a Primary Activity last night. When she is tired the whole world knows it, she cries and whines constantly and if she is overtired, she has night terrors which just adds to her being tired the next day. It is a horrible cycle. I attempted to give her a nap yesterday but it didn't work so when the whining and crying started the moment she woke up this morning, I knew she HAD to have a nap today especially because we have a busy weekend ahead. So I gave it try. I went through her entire nighttime routine, I even gave her some Benadryl (I know...so bad but I was desperate). It wasn't looking good as she was sitting up singing so I said a silent prayer that Heavenly Father would help her go to sleep. Within 5 minutes, she was out. That is amazing! I am so grateful. This day has not gone well so far because of 3 tired children (seriously hours of crying). I wasn't sure I was going to be able to keep it together for very much longer and then I was blessed with a small simple miracle that will totally change our day. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father answers prayers for some of the most simple things.
Happy Easter!

Turning the big 3-0

Yesterday was my birthday and it was a fun filled day....we began the morning with a trip to the park...WooHoo, just where I always wanted to go! Holly did make Cinnamon rolls (YUM) so it was a good start to the day. Then Taylor played with Paige literally ALL day. They were outside at one point and kept saying Happy Birthday and so I finally asked them if they were saying it to me and they replied "No, it is our birthday." Not fair, I wanted some hose water in a Princess teacup...bummer. I then took Taylor to gymnastics which is by far the easiest hour of my entire week, keeping the twins contained in the viewing room surrounded by dancer girls and their moms is so fun. But I really do enjoy watching Taylor in gymnastics attempting hand stands and cartwheels. It is so funny and she looks adorable in her leotard. My evening plans consisted of going with Sara to a Modbe party to try on and buy the perfect bathing suit. Simple idea right?! NO! There were so many styles and patterns, I think I tried on every bathing suit top there and modeled them for everyone. I think I should be given some commission for that. I finally decided on one about 2 hours later...holy cow! We were planning to go to Target, my sanctuary, but of course it was closed by the time we finished prancing around in bathing suits. So instead we went to Walmart which is really not the same thing to me. I hope I do not offend any Walmart shoppers but I don't like the place. However, I don't think I have laughed so much in a really long time. We laughed from everything to how half the lights in the store were turned off to fake baby chicks that chirp and don't stop chirping to plastic bunnies that poop candies. I didn't even know what I was putting in my cart and I had to constantly take stuff out. I left piles of Easter stuff in non Easter sections everywhere. So f you need last minute Easter stuff, check out the card section on top of some books in the middle of the aisle. At 11:40 PM we decided we should probably head home, dance class was in like 10 hours. The car ride resulted in even more laughing about how disgusting cows are (or funny if you are Sara) and how we are surrounded by them. Why do we live in dairy land? I will never know the answer to that question but I am so glad that some of them are sold so I don't have to look at another cow sitting in its poop on a rainy day. See what I am talking...disgusting not funny.
So I hope you catch on to my sarcasm. It really was a good day. I got to be with my kids who I adore, saw my husband briefly, got 2 things of flowers, 2 gift cert, and great conversation with friends. But if at all possible I would like to stay 30 and not get any older. Thanks!

Such a great day!

On Monday, Sara and I went to Burke Williams day spa. My mom and step dad watched my kids and arranged it so I didn't have to be back at any certain time so we were there ALL DAY. I think we were there longer than anyone else. We saw a lot of people come and go, it was AWESOME! I received one of the best massages I have EVER had, we had lunch, sat in the spa until out feet were so wrinkly it kind of hurt, and then sat in their lounge room forever just enjoying the peace and quiet and life without whiny kids. It was heaven. As if the day was not perfect enough, as we pulled out of the Block, we saw the following sign.
So we HAD to stop. And of course a dozen is cheaper than buying individuals so....
I think I will be working those off for a LONG time. Oh well, so worth it.
AND we didn't hit any traffic on the 91 at 6:30 pm....such a great day!

Things I am looking forward to in March...

One of my friends did this post and I thought I would do it too because March is a super fun month for me. So here it goes:
1. Next Monday - A day at the spa with a good friend... can't wait!!!
2. My Birthday...yes I am turning the big 3 - 0 this month.
3. My big 30th bday party. Mark your calendars everyone, it will the the 29th. Invites will be out soon.
4. My sisters coming down. One from Vegas to take me to the Melting Pot for my b-day (one of my favorite places) and my other sister and her husband from Utah for the party.
5. The 29th is another cool day because it is our 5 year anniversary. Has it only been 5 years? I am looking forward to 2 nights alone with Tyler and 3 mornings to sleep in. Thanks Trish and Russ!
6. Easter is one of my favorite holidays. I love finding the perfect Easter outfits for my kids (no luck yet) and watching them enjoy the traditional Easter traditions. We are also focusing our FHE Lessons this month on the Savior so we can teach Taylor the true meaning of the holiday.

So there you have it, 6 things I am looking forward to this month. What are you looking forward to?

I love this time of year.

Yes that's right it is Girl Scout Cookie Time, one of my favorite times of the year. I am a cookie addict so when my cookies were delivered to me last night, it was the highlight of my day (thank you Garces family). I am just a little nervous about what results are going to come from these cookies as in how much weight I am going to gain but I kind of feel it is worth it. It only happens once a year and when we got our totals emailed to us I noticed one of my friends ordered more than me (I was going to name names but decided not to) so I felt less guilty =)
FYI I did not buy all the ones shown in the picture even though I love them ALL.I am starting my kids young. They love them too!
Notice still no couch in our family room...aghh! 3 more weeks!

Taylor the Jungle Girl.

For the last few months Taylor has only let me put her hair in a ponytail. It has been really annoying because she has great hair that could be done so cute (not that I am very talented in that area but I could sure try). Every day I ask her if I can do something different and I tell her how cute it would be but the tears start coming and so I just put it in a ponytail until 3 days ago...she let me do pigtails!!! Her first reaction to it was "I look like Bindi the Jungle Girl!" So what do you think?
BINDI

TAYLOR
She thought it was hilarious that her "2 ponytails" were sticking out of her hat.
Yes that's right, a couple days ago she was in a bathing suit and now in a jacket....crazy California weather, just pick a temperature!
I love this picture, pure joy.
Can you tell she loves her trampoline, best money every spent.

Oh and we are on day 3 of pigtails, I wonder if she will ever let me do something different.
