Halloween Fun!

We started Halloween with Taylor's school party. I was lucky enough to be able go and help out. You learn a lot when you visit your child's school, for example, Taylor has a little boyfriend. These two were pretty much inseparable THE entire time at school and at our house later.
Too funny!

At the LAST minute we decided to invite people over for a Halloween get together. We ate dinner, took the kids trick or treating, and watched a movie outside on a HUGE screen while we ate popcorn and drank hot chocolate. A great group of families came. It was such a fun night! Thanks everyone for all your help and celebrating with us.

Tyler and Taylor created our witch's potions (aka homemade root beer, bubblegum drink, key lime drink, and watermelon).

Having dinner or in all honesty parents attempting/bribing/begging the kids to eat before they loaded up on sugar.

Grandma J showed up as a witch and Andy and Ashlyn were not too sure at first. They quickly realized who it was, though. =)

I had all the kids line up before we unleashed them on our neighborhood. They were SO excited! Everyday I have moments where I realize Taylor is so grown up. This was one of those moments. She was always a house or two ahead of me running around with her friends, knocking on doors, yelling trick or treat, all the while I'm thinking: hello? Don't you need me anymore? Guess not =(

I hung back with Andy and Ashlyn which was too fun. They didn't say much but were very excited to go to each door...Ash especially. She did not want to stop even when her bucket was so heavy she had to drag it from house to house.

Tyler's Mickey Mouse pumpkin. Every year we wait until the last minute to carve our pumpkins so this is all that got done out of the 5 pumpkins we bought...oh well.

This is how Andy spent the remainder of the night, holding onto the leash of our friend's dog. He let that dog take him all over the back yard and into the house. Andy loved it! It was TOO funny!

Such a fun night everyone! Thanks for coming!

Happy Halloween!

Because it is officially Halloween and I am up way too late once again, I just thought I would wish everyone a safe and fun Halloween. May your kids get too much candy, get all sugared up, crash hard in their beds, and not wake up until late Saturday morning.

Let The Sugar Highs Begin.

It all started last Friday at our ward Halloween party.

Here is the fearsome trio ready to save the world...apparently by flexing their muscles.

I love to watch little ones discover trick or treating for the 1st time. You can see the wheels turning, "So I just go house to house (or car to car in this case) hold my pumpkin bucket and people give me candy, and my mom isn't yelling No Candy?! This is AWESOME!" Andy and Ashlyn were no exception to this complex mind processing.

However once they were handed a lollipop at car #3, they were done. They started eating them before I had a chance to get the wrappers off. Crazy Daddy! All the kids thought he was too funny! I wish I had a picture of his boots, they had fake goldfish in them...Stylin!The whole gang.
I can't wait to see what this same picture looks like in a few years with a few more little rug rats thrown into the mix. Sara and Erika get on that please! Ashlyn has THE biggest sweet tooth of any kid I know...no contest. She is also the silliest and cutest little super girl under 2 years of age who took too many cute pictures that I couldn't decide on just one to post.
It was a fun night with plenty more treat overloading events to come.

Knock on Wood.

I am about to announce something that I hope doesn't come back and bite me in the rear BUT I can honestly say the twin thing is getting easier. It has been a long time coming, 21 months to be exact, but I am finally feeling a bit more free these days. They can play upstairs and in the backyard without my CONSTANT supervision, they stay in the cart at Sam's Club (woohoo, candy did help but at least NOW they can eat candy), I can even take them to the gym with me which a few months ago getting them in the door served as my workout. They talk more everyday which is extremely helpful, tell me which cereal they want in the morning and eat it all because it is what THEY chose and not something I forced on them. Don't get me wrong there are times of complete anarchy in our home but what family doesn't experience that at times? They are growing up, becoming little people, and leaving the baby stage behind them. As I was looking through pictures from last year, I got a little misty eyed looking at those sweet baby faces, but I am having so much fun with them now and enjoying this stage. So to the few of you that read this that have been blessed with twins, just know it does get easier and let that knowledge guide you through each day and help you treasure all the sweet moments. It really does go by too fast.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from last October.

Disneyland!

Last Monday we spent the day at Disneyland with my mom and stepdad. I talked Tyler into taking off early from work (early like 11:30) but I had to agree to allow a little bit of this throughout the day. Thank you IPhone for being so awesome and allowing our dad to work from anywhere so we can have some fun!

We tired this little guy out before we even got there.

I just CAN NOT get enough of this little man.

Ashlyn's 1st visit to the Princess Fantasy Fare or Faire or Fair, I don't know which one it is. These are her muscles by the way.

Cute sisters.

And then it was off to Woody's Halloween Roundup. Taylor came in 3rd in the pass the pumpkin game...so close to winning that sticker, oh wait they gave her one anyways.

And then off to Toon Town, the kids FAVORITE place and the best kept secret at Dland, we got to ride the roller coaster 6 times in a row without getting off...so fun!

I think maybe Taylor is tired of me always saying "Say Cheese!"
