I have some serious catching up to do.  Part of me just wants to skip ahead and forgot about the last month but this IS our family journal so...I have to back track.  I will try to be brief..

Sometime last month we went on a family outing to the bowling alley.  Kids had a great time, we had great coupons, and it was a fun little adventure.
I only helped them throw those balls a few times before I requested the little ramp thing so they could do it themselves.

The queen,

I hate site words. Not the actually words per se but the method for getting our children to learn them. Last year there were the kindergarten site word lists. The "standard" was they needed to know them by the end of the year. No problem. Well no one told me it was a race. No one told me, not even my non-competitive-when-it-comes-to-academics-kindergartner, that she needed to get her rocket to the moon which I might add is on display for the whole class to see. We would get a list, work on it, send it back when she was ready, pass it off, move to the next list. I thought we were doing pretty well. Oh no! It was a race and my child was not winning this race. Weeellll...not this year. I was determined that we would be done as quickly as possible. We were getting the lists and sending them back the next day signed and ready for testing. I was sure we, I mean she, was doing fabulous and faster than the rest. So notice my surprise when 2 weeks ago I see a kid with a site word king crown on his head. WHAT??!!! How is that even possible? They test once a week and we hadn't even been in school long enough to get all the lists passed off. I started asking questions. The kid didn't know what I was talking about. So I asked the mom of such kid. She said, "Oh you just write on the list what lists she's ready for." Oh... right. Why didn't I think of that? Lack of common sense and 1st time parent of student....who knows!!!! But it was ON now! "K, Taylor we, I mean you, are passing off all remaining 50 words this week. I want to see the crown on your head when I pick you up on Friday. I will dance in the street if I see it." I signed the list with extra lists added to it with not very much confidence. After all it was a lot of words and she was getting stuck on 3 of them. But off my 1st grader went with signed list in hand. I was nervous (see why I hate site words). But tears came to my eyes when I saw this girl walking toward me with the biggest smile on her face. She was the queen for the day!
And I did dance in the street.

Pennies

Saturday night Andy was crying and complaining that something was stuck in his throat. Trying not to panic I asked further questions. He concluded that Ashlyn put money in his mouth and now it was stuck. After further interrogation of all Jorgenson children we concluded that Andy had strep throat. For some reason that wasn't communicated to him because on the way to pick up his prescription he told Ash, "We have to go pick up my medicine to get the pennies out of my mouth." I'm not really an LOL acronym using girl but that made me laugh out loud.

Chase's 1st Haircut

We decided is was time for Chase to have a hair cut.

Someone told me to expect screams during his 1st hair cut....not this kid.
He kept looking at the lady and smiling. The After shot.
We are a little bummed with the outcome. We think she cut the front a little too short and too bowl-like. We liked the whole Justin Bieber look but fortunately it will grow back. I may have to go to an actually hair stylist next time...doesn't every baby need a stylist?

Miss Taylor!

I had the following conversation with Taylor this morning on the way to school.
Mom: Taylor why don't you let me do your hair? Look at Morgan's hair, it looks so cute.
Taylor: I don't want my hair done. People will stare at me.
Mom: What are you talking about? No one will stare at you.
Taylor: Yes they do because I am so pretty.

No confidence boost needed here.

Chase at 4 months.

Our little dude just gets cuter, happier (if that's even possible), and more edible with each passing day. He brings SO much joy to our family. Taylor is constantly saying she wants to eat him up. When chaos is all around us, which happens regularly in our home, he gives us a smile and immediately nothing else matters. He is perfect in every way.He is weighing in at 15.2lbs and is 25 inches long.
He loves to bounce.
He gets up on all 4's and rocks.
He scoots and rolls.
He loves being in a walker.
He puts everything into his mouth.
He loves toys.
He is sleeping through the night.
He holds my hand when he eats.
He smiles ALL the time.
He is ticklish.
He has been called a miniature Justin Bieber by a couple of 10 year old girls.
He goes with the flow of our crazy life.
And I think its safe to say that we have another brown eyed kid.
We feel so blessed to have this precious baby in our family.

Ready Set Grow....

and that sure is what these 2 have been doing. It has been a crazy 3 1/2 years! Sometimes I can't believe they are that old and then there are times when I feel like we have been in twin chaos FORever. As soon as they were old enough I jumped at the chance to put them in preschool. They are enjoying it or at least one of them seems to.
After preschool conversations usually go like this:
Mom: Did you guys have fun?
Andy: No, it was boring. ( I don't believe him)
Ashlyn: YES, it's August!!! (Apparently she pays attention during Calendar time)
I should document that Ashlyn did take scissors to her hair a couple months back. It could have been a lot worse. So I am enjoying 6 hours a week with just 1 child and loving all the things I am able to accomplish while they are at preschool. Is that bad?
